Crisis Text Line - A crisis line you text.  Text START to 741-741.

CrisisChat.org - Crisis Chat is a website where you can chat with someone confidentially (chat is only available in the US) and get great resources (available for everyone) for dealing with...whatever you may be dealing with.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline - This website has a phone number you can call (800.273.8255) and a link where you can chat with someone online.  They have numbers for the hearing impaired and special options for veterans and young adults.

The Mighty - This is a site about living with disabilities and illness.  There are amazing articles written by people living with mental and physical illnesses that affect their everyday lives.  I find it comforting and inspiring.

National Alliance on Mental Illness - NAMI is a great organization that has local groups all over and they are a great resource for...well...resources.  Their information helpline (800.950.6264) can give you information many mental health subjects as well as referrals and support and their website is full of great information.

CrazyMeds - This is a great site that gives you information on psychiatric meds in a way you can understand.  They have a great sense of humor and they tell you things you actually want to know.

Drugs.com - This is the site I use to look up all of my meds (not just psych).  It has a pill identifier and can show you interactions between medications.

ClinicalTrials.gov - This is a online database of the clinical trials being held in the US.  It is a service of the US National Institutes of Health.

TrialX - This is the website that CureTalk is part of.  TrialX is made to help you find clinic trials in your area.  They have an app available on iTunes and there is a search box on the right side of the page.

CureTalk - This is a website with tons of articles on new treatments and motivational stories.  They cover all kinds of illness, from Alzheimer's to types of cancers to mental illness.

Psychiatric Times - I love the articles on this site.  They really address things I want to know about.  Some of it is over my head and is meant for mental health professionals, but it's worth sorting through them.

  1. You might want to add NeedyMeds (http://www.needymeds.org). It's not just for psych meds, but I use it to help me get patient assistance for a few of my medications.
